My Week through Vsco #2

This week has all been about work, food and more work. Haven't really switched off this week and questioning many of my life choices, including this blog. On monday my housemate and I took some images for the blog (all on my little baby, the Canon 60D), focusing mostly on jumpers due to the Autumn Season so expect many outfit posts featuring jumpers in the upcoming weeks. We took a break and had a lovely meal at the Millenium Centre, Cardiff. I opted for the tuna wrap while Kat chose the guacamole wrap with sour cream on the side whilst devouring some houmos and pita too. I stuck with the usual beverage - a coke while Kat decided to take a walk on the wild side and chose Jamaican Hot Chocolate which includes a tiny bit of rum. An excellent and productive day all round. Wednesday came with a nice surprise - a little gift from my partner. He bought me a art book on how to draw manga and it's AMAZING!!! Incredibly detailed, it covers everything; from what the inside on the earlobe should look like and how to sell your work. It also has a chapter dedicated to how to use different mediums to create your manga art. I haven't drawn any this week because of work and the blog but hopefully next week I'll have new sketches to show you.
Thursday the parents came down and I was incredibly happy so see them. Why? Well the rents coming down means a lovely lunch, not my usual chicken and broccoli. We ventured to this tiny little cafe called 'Truffles' and it was glorious! I chose the brunch breakfast which included sausage, bacon, chips, egg and beans with two pieces of bread and butter. I devoured that meal and enjoyed every mouthful! We then decided to stroll through the Cardiff shopping arcades. It was refreshing to shop in unique little shops rather than the usual big brand stores on the high street. Found a gorgeous interior store selling cute trinkets and christmas decorations (yes, most shops in Cardiff have their christmas decorations, personally I think we should get Halloween and Guy Fawkes over and done with first). I only buy fir my parents and my friend Jenni only because the last time I bought for everyone (say 12 people) only three of them got their gifts. I either didn't see the other people or I ate their gifts, so lesson learned only Jenni and the rents, however this year I will have to buy for Dan so this shopping trip gave me great inspiration!!
Gym wise I've gone 4 times this week which I'm very proud of. Usually I do 45 min on the cross-trainer and then my sit-ups, but this week I'v tried to cover every stomach muscle and slowly starting to do squats and deadlifts again.
Next week will be a lot more fun and adventurous!! I cannot wait!

Wishlist: The Hobo Society

Being a 23 year old with my own rented flat (unfortunately rented, which means I cannot put any art on my walls,) my imagination has gone into overdrive on how to decorate my living space, so lookimng through the webiverse for interior inspiration has become a daily occurrence, and just like any normal 20-something year old I enjoy making wishlists of these little knick knacks.

I've always wanted to include wishlists as part of my blog, with each post having it's own theme or focusing on a particular shop, in this articles case- The Hobo Society.

As I stated in my first article, The Hobo Society focuses on unique buys. They focus on the quality of their product rather than the quantity, and travel the world hunting for the best and unique buys for their buyers. Here are a few things that have taken my fancy from their website:

This little beauty is entitled 'Quartz', designed by CTRL ZAK and Davide Barzaghi. Made up of pentagons and hexagons, the wooden structure begins to look three-dimensional due to the effect of the stuffing. It's a limited edition production, too, due to the nature of it's manufacture. So in summary, each copy of this beautiful chair will be unique and one of a kind piece

Reason I like it: It looks incredibly comfy. I can picture myself with my favourite book, curled up like a ball in the middle, sinking into the foam with a cup of tea in my hand, enjoying life. Unfortunately my flat is quite small so it might take up a bit of space.
Price: $12,532 / £7,471 (+ shipping)

This gorgeous design can either be hanged or it can also be used as a sit down mood light. It undergoes insane handcrafting before the laser goes into overdrive, and cuts each layer individually which then creates a smooth piece. As it states on the website "Rich natural materials and curvaceous inner carvings foster the Padouk light's ability to create a warm, intimate atmosphere"
Reason I like it: The colour is absolutely beautiful! The fiery red will bring some much needed colour into any bland apartment. The smoothness of it's curves looks relaxing and fun. It's different, and that's why I like it, simple yet different - there is nothing over the top about the design and it catches your eye. It'll be a great talking point between any house owner and guest.
Price: $542/£324 (free shipping)

For all you literacy lovers and bookworms out there, I present to you the ARCHIVE II, in all it's divine glory! The ARCHIVE II was created by architect David Garcia (who they met in a bar in Copenhagen). The aim of this piece is to blur the lines between design and art. It has bookshelves on both sides. The aim is to create the illusion of an open space, a chic minimalist effect. I believe it's also designed to take you into another world with your book, a world where you are truly embedded within the story, blocking out any distractions.
Reason I like it: Just look at it! I can be lost in it for days with Darcy and Lizzie, Heathcliff and Welles. I would probably just lounge and take refuge within its confinement. It'll just be me and my imagination. Plus, great cardio.
Price: £10,903/$18,290 (+ shipping)

When you visit The Hobo Society's website you will come to realise that they love their skulls and, personally, this is my absolute favourite. Made in hand in the ol' US of A, the artist specialises in turning animal skulls into beautiful wall art. The artist makes sure she honours the spirit of the animal by adorning them with materials such as gemstones to African beads.
Reason I like it: The colours are beautiful as well as the mosaic pattern is pretty too.  The colours are so calming and relaxing and again a good conversation starter. It would make a change from the usual painting or family portrait.
Price: $2,507/£1,495 (+ shipping)

Of course the turquoise skull needs a companion, and this is probably the next best on the website! Created by the same designer, she has also used a mosaic pattern on this skull too but with no added decoration.

Reason I like it: This beast looks so powerful compared to it's counterpart. I would place this on top of my desk in my study. It has this fighting spirit about it, which I hope will be past to me with my blogging and photography career. It's such an eye grabbing piece - nothing subtle about it. The horns are also really impressive, it gives the sense of power, too.
Price: £1,333/$2,236 (+ shipping).

Thus concludes my article(s) on The Hobo Society. I would like to thank them for letting me write articles on their fabulous store and I hope you enjoyed reading them.

Store Profile: The Hobo Society

I've been following Hobo Society for quite a while now via Instagram (@the_hobo_society). Usually they post home deco posts and I can tell you now, once I get my own flat in Cardiff, London, and Tokyo (a girl can dream can't she?) they will be drowning in Hobo Society interiors (but I shall save this for the next article). I wanted to give you readers a quick glimpse to their latest clothing designs, and a quick overview of the services they provide and their very unique brand of fashion.

Before I begin, I need you guys to understand what the term 'Hobo' means. Hobos are travellers - those who travel the rail network looking for opportunities and adventure, and it's exactly that sense of wanderlust that represents Hobo Society. They're travellers, and they've been everywhere, they've seen it all and they know exactly what products they're selling. They find their treasures while adventuring across the globe and offer them to us, the buyers, and that's what makes this shop stand out from most. None of their pieces are a product of mass consumption, they're all one of a kind. This means that when you buy a Hobo Society product, only you own it, no one else, just you. This company is giving you the chance to have something truly special - an outfit just as unique as you are. They encourage their buyers to invest in something that has character, something that defines you, something that you can treasure.

All the products are produced using traditional methods, and because everything they make is made to order they take into consideration any particular request their buyers have. They also offer an after sale service if you have any trouble, so you can guarantee the utmost quality with your purchase.

They also have their own fashion line entitled 'The Hobo Collection'. It's designed for, and exclusively sold by, The Hobo Society. Here, you can find high-quality, locally-made, authentic products.
What makes The Hobo Society such a fashion pioneer is that each piece has its own history. Here are a few examples;

This fox waistcoat is embroidered with vintage gold-plated solid silver piece which was taken from an old Tunisian ceremonial coat and that's not all, it's composed of recycled fur which was taken from vintage fur coats which was then recut and resized. This little gem could be yours for £707 ($1,186) plus shipping.

This beauty is made with Italian leather and suede lining. You can wear it one or two ways - you can either wear it as a leather jacket (nice!) or has a scarf. It's also reversible so you can either wear the leather or the suede, depending on your mood. The piece is part of a collaboration with Belgian designer Olivia Hainaut, who also runs her own brand of jewellry and leather accessories. You can choose this piece in seven different colours and colour proposition is also welcome - how cool is that!? This piece costs £1,172 ($1,965) plus shipping.

Another elegant design by Olivia Hainaut. This cape is handmade with the best cashmere and Italian leather. All yours for £1,111 ($1,863) plus shipping.

I've attained some exclusive images (thank you, Hobo Society) of other items they have to offer. Images were taken by a photographer friend to the Officiel Paris

My week through Vsco #1

A new weekly feature to my blog which shall be entitled 'My Week through Vsco'.
Why? Well, I've seen many bloggers doing articles such as 'My Week through Instagram' or 'Images from Tumblr' and since Vsco is the app I use most frequently I thought it was the best option.
What a lovely week it's been (except for the four days in work, especially with machines broken and what not, it was hell on high earth). I had the day off Monday so the parents came down and we had lunch at Pettigrews, a quaint little tea room at the edge of the Park in Cardiff. I treated my guy Dan to a meal there on the Saturday too and he thoroughly enjoyed. We then had a nice little stroll round the park and found ourselves a secluded area by the edge of the river so we could just lie and enjoy each others company, pure bliss.
I've also been practising my manga sketching here and there this week. I haven't sketched since secondary school so I'm a bit rusty but with every drawing I do improve.
Went to the gym four times this week, quite pleased with that but I've also binged all this weekend, so I've maintained the same weight rather than lose any.
The highlight of my week was my first Dungeons and Dragons which I've been looking forward to all through summer! It was amazing! We were a team of five and we had to complete three encounters to save our friend Dorian. We encountered cyclops and cultists but we succeeded in our quest and Dorian is alive and safe.
And that's pretty much been my week.
