Wishlist: The Hobo Society

Being a 23 year old with my own rented flat (unfortunately rented, which means I cannot put any art on my walls,) my imagination has gone into overdrive on how to decorate my living space, so lookimng through the webiverse for interior inspiration has become a daily occurrence, and just like any normal 20-something year old I enjoy making wishlists of these little knick knacks.

I've always wanted to include wishlists as part of my blog, with each post having it's own theme or focusing on a particular shop, in this articles case- The Hobo Society.

As I stated in my first article, The Hobo Society focuses on unique buys. They focus on the quality of their product rather than the quantity, and travel the world hunting for the best and unique buys for their buyers. Here are a few things that have taken my fancy from their website:

This little beauty is entitled 'Quartz', designed by CTRL ZAK and Davide Barzaghi. Made up of pentagons and hexagons, the wooden structure begins to look three-dimensional due to the effect of the stuffing. It's a limited edition production, too, due to the nature of it's manufacture. So in summary, each copy of this beautiful chair will be unique and one of a kind piece

Reason I like it: It looks incredibly comfy. I can picture myself with my favourite book, curled up like a ball in the middle, sinking into the foam with a cup of tea in my hand, enjoying life. Unfortunately my flat is quite small so it might take up a bit of space.

This gorgeous design can either be hanged or it can also be used as a sit down mood light. It undergoes insane handcrafting before the laser goes into overdrive, and cuts each layer individually which then creates a smooth piece. As it states on the website "Rich natural materials and curvaceous inner carvings foster the Padouk light's ability to create a warm, intimate atmosphere"

Reason I like it: The colour is absolutely beautiful! The fiery red will bring some much needed colour into any bland apartment. The smoothness of it's curves looks relaxing and fun. It's different, and that's why I like it, simple yet different - there is nothing over the top about the design and it catches your eye. It'll be a great talking point between any house owner and guest.

For all you literacy lovers and bookworms out there, I present to you the ARCHIVE II, in all it's divine glory! The ARCHIVE II was created by architect David Garcia (who they met in a bar in Copenhagen). The aim of this piece is to blur the lines between design and art. It has bookshelves on both sides. The aim is to create the illusion of an open space, a chic minimalist effect. I believe it's also designed to take you into another world with your book, a world where you are truly embedded within the story, blocking out any distractions.

Reason I like it: Just look at it! I can be lost in it for days with Darcy and Lizzie, Heathcliff and Welles. I would probably just lounge and take refuge within its confinement. It'll just be me and my imagination. Plus, great cardio.

When you visit The Hobo Society's website you will come to realise that they love their skulls and, personally, this is my absolute favourite. Made in hand in the ol' US of A, the artist specialises in turning animal skulls into beautiful wall art. The artist makes sure she honours the spirit of the animal by adorning them with materials such as gemstones to African beads.

Reason I like it: The colours are beautiful as well as the mosaic pattern is pretty too.  The colours are so calming and relaxing and again a good conversation starter. It would make a change from the usual painting or family portrait.

Of course the turquoise skull needs a companion, and this is probably the next best on the website! Created by the same designer, she has also used a mosaic pattern on this skull too but with no added decoration. 

Reason I like it: This beast looks so powerful compared to it's counterpart. I would place this on top of my desk in my study. It has this fighting spirit about it, which I hope will be past to me with my blogging and photography career. It's such an eye grabbing piece - nothing subtle about it. The horns are also really impressive, it gives the sense of power, too.

I've been following Hobo Society for quite a while now via Instagram (@the_hobo_society). Usually they post home deco posts and I can tell you now, once I get my own flat in Cardiff, London, and Tokyo (a girl can dream can't she?) they will be drowning in Hobo Society interiors (but I shall save this for the next article). Product Review: Mobile Case from Primark

My previous phone case had so many Bump and Grind stickers on it (Bump and Grind: Monday's at Ten Feet Tall, Cardiff), it began to look a little grotty so a new phone case was in order. 

I'm working on a budget ( I put money away for my month trip to Tokyo in 2016), so I needed something within my budget but I also wanted something Kawaii. Unfortunately I cannot really afford shipping as well as purchase (at the moment) so I trolled around the shops in Cardiff and bingo!

I find this cute little cupcake case from Primark.

Made out of rubber, it comes off and goes back on easily while with my previous phone case it would be quite a struggle.

Yep.

Absolute Bargain.

The sides can be a bit annoying but you get used to it.

Product Review: BlackMilk Clothing

Good morning to you my dear dear readers! Today I'll be showing you my BlackMilk Clothing stained glass leggings.

Let's Begin!

These are probably the most expensive leggings I've ever bought! In the area of $70 they cost a bomb and at the time I bought them (when I was two stone heavier than I am now) they were not exactly the comfiest pair. Fast forward over a year later and I'm two stone lighter and they're snugness has changed dramatically.

Back when I bought them I was a size UK 14. In britain medium size usually would fit me so thought that a medium size would be fine. Oh how wrong I was! They were uncomfortably tight and every time I tried to sit down I kept thinking they would rip. The faces on the leggings were stretched to their limit, they looked very unflattering.

I am currently a size UK 10 and now they fit perfectly, so in terms of working out your size when it comes to BlackMilk Clothing better purchase a size bigger than you usually would.

The instructions on the leggings say that you should hand wash only. Do not soak or bleach. Do not tumble dry and do not iron!!

I usually pair these leggings with a long black top and some black boots. Like every other pair of leggings I have they're very bold and not much can go with them outfit wise.

There is no denying the fact that these are a bold pair of leggings. I do get a few weird looks when I venture out in them but hey ho, if you feel confident in a garment, wear it regardless of what others might think.

London: Day 2

Today was a jam packed day full of adventure! We decided on this break we would focus on the well known outskirts of London rather than Oxford Street do be a stereotypical tourist, and of course to do some more shopping.

Our main points of interests were Soho, which is home to great traditional British pubs and a whole load of vintage stores. Did I make a purchase? Yes I did. Will I make an article about it? Yes I will. Coming soon though...

Carnaby Street was also on the cards today. We found some great little shops. Shops that you would never see on the Cardiff high street. That's why I love London so much, you get unique shops which have great second hand and vintage clothing for a great price while still having your high street brands right on your doorstep.

Chinatown was a winner with me. Bought a load of kawaii sweet treats that make your mouth water. Beautifully decorated too, fully recommend a visit.

During all of this my main goal was to find a comic book store we searched all day but found it ten minutes before it closed for the evening. It was absolute heaven. Unfortunately they only had a small manga section (which most comic book stores have) however I did make a purchase. Death Note Vol I and II.

My second day in London was, again a wonderful day. The weather was on our side. It wasn't too busy and everyone just seemed relaxed. They say London can be a lonely place, and I can see why. No one looks you in the eye, manners are out the window sometimes but if I could live there, even for a year. I would be happy.

Enough of my ramblings. Time for bed. Last day tomorrow.

Urban Oufitters and Leaving do'

Hello my lovely lovely readers!! What a week of socialising this has been/ going to be! 

Yesterday I attended the leaving do' of my work mates Gabby and Dan both of whom have successfully managed to attain their dream careers and all of us in work could not be prouder of them. 

I also loved my outfit from last night too.

My favourite piece from yesterday's outfit was of course, my cardigan,which I purchased from Urban Outfitters. Quite thin material I must admit but still comfortable and it can keep you a little bit warm. 

Can you see the colouring? It's green but with some blue tint too. 

The cardigan gave my outfit some colour. Luckily it wasn't over the top in terms of standing out from the white crop top and black shorts but it stood out enough to be the main feature.

We had dinner in GBK's first. It was scrumptious. 

Jess and I. We both started our workplace at the same time and we're the only two from our group who stayed.

P.S As you can see I use my mobile to take these images as well as my other fashion posts but once I've finished editing all my images (I'm re-editing 7,500) I'll start using the camera for my outfit posts. I just do not want to add to the mounting of editing I've already got.
