Personal Post: Pride in Cardiff

Living for the weekend! Cardiff held it's annual Mardi Gras this week and as always the city centre was lively and full of life!

The weather at the moment is a mixture of summer and autumn. Sunny when the sun isn't hiding behind the clouds so it's the perfect jumper weather!

My jumper is courtesy of top and it's one of my favourites. It's a dark crop top with little white specs. Simple but nice at the same time.

I had lunch in a little cafe in the park named 'Summertime'. I opted for a tuna melt and I'm not kidding when I say it was the most delicious panini I've ever tasted! Filled with melted cheese and sweetcorn, it was incredibly filling. Compliments to the chef!

Here are some images from the Mardi Gras Parade!

On the Sunday I decided to give myself a break from the usual morning fruit platter and take my business to Mount Stuart which is always reasonably priced and the food is always on top form. I ordered my usual: Eggs Benedict, and as usual it was scrumptious, the sauce is always beautiful and the eggs were cooked just right!

To work off my eggs Benedict I decided to take a walk to the wetlands ( make the most of this lovely weather we have). It such a beautiful walk, I recommend it to anyone living in the Bay area.

Topshop and day out

Today I'm providing you with a new product from Topshop, my Boston Jersey! Perfect for this summer weather especially since I'm not much of a 'shorts and t-shirt' type of person.  Jersey's are everywhere these days but I think Topshop has the upper hand. They have one of these in pink too but I prefer having array of colour in my wardrobe.

Due to the fact I work full-time I won't be able to provide many 'outfit of the day' posts because usually I'm in my work clothes but I shall be providing a lot more fashion articles especially now I have got into the swing of my film Friday and travel Tuesday articles.

Today the boss of the family (my mother) is visiting so SHOPPING SPREE!! And, of course a nice meal somewhere!!

I decide to stick with my snakeskin shoes which I blogged about before since they're my comfiest pair and are good for my feet. I wish I could be one of those girls who can wear heels all the time but because I have a high arch my feet get really painful really quickly, so I rather look after my feet rather than make them worse.

Here are some links:

We went to Ruby Tuesday's for food. I shall be writing a review soon.

We went to my workplace (John Lewis) for some afternoon tea. The carrot cake is to die for!

Such a great girly day out, and I purchased a few new pieces that I shall blog about soon.
(By the way more abridged references for titles, don't like it?)...

Travel Tuesday: Best of Britain.

Sometimes I feel that too many people go abroad and forget there are some really nice towns/cities to visit here (besides London), so I've decided to make this article on the best places to visit in Britain, from bustling metropolitan areas to quiet little country villages.

• Bath - Bath could be considered Jane Austen's creative sanctuary. She spent six years of her life in this beautiful city and based two of her novels on the city and you cannot blame her, it is beautiful. The main attraction in Bath is the 2000 year old tea rooms which still steams today. You can also visit the Jane Austen Centre which will give you a brief insight into her life during her stay in Bath.

•Cardiff - My current residency. With the new studios being built, Cardiff shall soon be the place to be for media professionals and it's constantly thriving and improving. It's the city of youth, with many youngsters coming to Cardiff to study and play. There are many attractions around Cardiff which are incredibly stunning such as the Millenium Centre and the Millenium Stadium, which holds many of the Six Nations games. If you find Cardiff centre to be a bit overpowering then you can always take a 15 minute walk down to the Bay with it's ocean views and Doctor Who Experience.

•Tenby - Hopefully, one day, Tenby shall be my retirement residency. It absolutely gorgeous! Based on the beach front, Tenby has many cute cafes and unique boutique shops. If you ever plan on going to Tenby you have to have fish and chips at the beach front as well as visit Fecci's ice Cream Parlour.

•Bristol - There is no denying that Bristol is the place to be if your young and artistic. Many of my friends are either living there or studying there, like Cardiff, Bristol is a big hotspot for students. Bristol has three amazing shopping centres that caters for every requirements as well as many museums and art galleries and if you go for a little wander you might spot a Banksy piece.

•Stratford - The birthplace of William Shakespeare, so with that in mind you have to visit his house, oh and you will have to visit Royal Shakespeare Theatre, you never know who might be performing with many thespian actors such as Sir Patrick Stewart taking roles. Also Stratford has a Butterfly Farm which is incredibly pretty. The housing architect has changed since Shakespeare's time which is what I love about it. Makes a change from Cardiff's modern buildings which can become tedious and dull.

• Dorset - If you ever visit Dorset, stay in a cottage. They're incredible sweet and most of the contain enormous gardens, great place to find artistic inspiration. You will also have to visit Durdle Door, one of the best beaches I have ever been too!

• York - I adore York. I went there for a horror weekend during the winter times. Visit York dungeon which gives you an insight into old time torture and the hanging of Dick Turpin and then at night time take a ghost walk where your guide will take you on a little tour of York while on the way stopping and recounting ghost stories.

• Pembrokeshire - The coastal scenery of Pembrokeshire is to die for, absolutely breathtaking! It's incredibly close to Tenby too so you can always stay in Pembrokeshire and take a trip in to Tenby. Many surfers travel to Pembrokeshire to catch the waves, it's a little welsh surfing mecca. If you have a family you HAVE (stress on the word 'have') to visit Folly Farm. I spent most of my childhood years here and I cannot wait to take my little cousin there. Not only does it have a massive farm it now also has a zoo, and most of the attractions (and rides, yes, it has a fair) are undercover so it's perfect for every weather!!

There are many other towns and cities to visit in Britain, but these are the ones that really stick out for me and that I hold dear to my heart.  I shall hopefully be visiting some of these places soon (again) and reviewing what they have to offer but I shall be writing more articles on these fine cities so you have a better idea on what they have to offer. Think of this article as a brief overview.
